Kwartet aan 't IJ is excited to present their exploration and interpretation of Fanny Mendelssohn's beautiful String Quartet in Eb Major, alongside her brother Felix's String Quartet in F Minor.

Two siblings, two intertwined voices. In these string quartets, Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn share a musical language shaped by family, collaboration, and mutual inspiration. But where Felix’s legacy flourished, Fanny’s was long overlooked. This program invites listeners to hear them side by side—and to rediscover a voice too long unheard.
